Backbands

Backbands are L-shaped, decorative profiles added to the outer edge of window/door casings or baseboards to increase their thickness, width, and visual depth. Originating in the late 19th century, they provide a high-end, custom look to standard trim, often used to bridge gaps between trim and uneven walls.
